Walk to Emmaus

Empowering leaders to be the hands and feet of Christ.

The Lay Directors for an Emmaus weekend are selected by the Board of Directors to lead a team through team formation, and the team and pilgrims through an Emmaus Weekend. The Weekend Lay Director is the principal layperson who directs activities during the Walk to Emmaus. Weekend Lay Directors have participated in “progressive servanthood” development by serving on many teams in a variety of roles. They have demonstrated their understanding of the Emmaus model through servanthood, discipleship, leadership and accountability.

As servant leaders they work to EQUIP others:

E ncourage them to serve (Thess 5:11)
Q ualify Them for service (2 Tim 2:2)
U nderstand Their needs (Luke 11:1)
I nstruct Them (1 Tim 4:-12)
P ray for Them (John 17:6-10, 15-20)

“Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them;”
